Good visibility<br />

Windscreen heating*<br />

The windscreen heating is combined with<br />

the Thermatic defrosting function<br />

( page 188).<br />

The heating time for the windscreen heating<br />

is variable and is controlled in accordance<br />

with the outside temperature and the<br />

temperature of the engine.<br />

Rear window heating<br />

The rear window heating switches off automatically<br />

after approximately 6 to 7 minutes.<br />

This depends on the outside<br />

temperature and the driving conditions.<br />

The rear window heating only operates<br />

when the engine is running.<br />

The rear window heating switches off automatically<br />

if too many consumers are<br />

switched on or the battery is not sufficiently<br />

charged. The indicator lamp in the button<br />

flashes.<br />

The rear window heating will automatically<br />

switch back on as soon as there is sufficient<br />

voltage again.<br />

Make sure that the ignition is switched<br />

on.<br />

Switching on<br />

Press the F button on the Thermatic<br />

control panel ( page 184).<br />

The indicator lamp in the button lights<br />

up. The rear window heating is on.<br />

Switching off<br />

Press the F button.<br />

The indicator lamp in the button goes<br />

off. The rear window heating is off.
