With the exception of the driver's seat belt<br />

and the rear centre seat belt, all seat belts<br />

are fitted with a child seat lock.<br />

The child seat lock ensures that the belt<br />

does not loosen once the child seat has<br />

been secured.<br />

Activating the child seat lock<br />

Insert the belt tongue in the seat belt<br />

buckle.<br />

Extend the belt fully and allow the inertia<br />

reel to draw it back in.<br />

The child seat lock is activated.<br />

Releasing the child seat lock<br />

After removing the child seat, roll up<br />

the belt fully.<br />

The child seat lock is released.<br />

Automatic child seat recognition<br />

The sensor system for the front-passenger<br />

seat automatically detects whether a special<br />

<strong>Mercedes</strong>-Benz child seat with a transponder<br />

has been fitted. If this is the case,<br />

the AIRBAG OFF warning lamp lights up on<br />

the centre console.<br />
