Couple the trailer.
Shift the transfer case to LOW before
driving on steep uphill or downhill gradients
!
Operation
Trailer towing
Your vehicle will have different handling
characteristics when it is towing a trailer,
compared to when it is driven without a
trailer. The vehicle/trailer combination:
is heavier
has reduced acceleration and gradient
climbing capability
has a longer braking distance
is more affected by gusts of side winds
requires more sensitive steering
consumes more fuel
i
When driving in mountainous terrain,
engine output and gradient-climbing
capability decrease with increasing altitude.
