Changing the batteries<br />

If the remote control batteries are discharged,<br />

you can only lock and unlock the<br />

vehicle manually using the emergency key<br />

element ( page 348).<br />

If the batteries for the auxiliary heating*<br />

remote control are discharged, you can<br />

only switch the auxiliary heating* on and<br />

off using the buttons in the vehicle<br />

( page 193).<br />

It is then advisable to have the batteries<br />

changed at a qualified specialist workshop,<br />

e.g. a <strong>Mercedes</strong>-Benz Service Centre.<br />

Risk of poisoning G<br />

Batteries contain poisonous and caustic<br />

substances. You should therefore keep batteries<br />

away from children.<br />

If a battery is swallowed, consult a doctor<br />

immediately.<br />

Environmental note H<br />

Do not dispose of batteries with the household<br />

rubbish. Return discharged batteries<br />

to a qualified specialist workshop, e.g. a<br />

<strong>Mercedes</strong>-Benz Service Centre, or at a special<br />

collection point for old batteries.<br />
