Opening and closing<br />

You will find detailed information about<br />

your vehicle's functions in the "Controls in<br />

detail" section. Read this section in particular<br />

if you are already familiar with the vehicle's<br />

basic functions.<br />

If you are not yet familiar with the basic<br />

functions, the "Getting started" section will<br />

provide you with more information. You<br />

will find the reference to the appropriate<br />

part of that section at the start of each segment.<br />

Key with remote control<br />

The vehicle's equipment includes two remote<br />

control keys.<br />

An emergency key element is inserted into<br />

each key. The emergency key element release<br />

slides 4 have different colours to<br />

help distinguish between the two keys.<br />

The remote control allows you to lock and<br />

unlock the vehicle from some distance. To<br />

prevent theft, only use the remote control<br />

in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle.<br />

When set to the factory settings, the remote<br />

control locks and unlocks the following<br />

centrally:<br />

The doors<br />

The rear door or tailgate (Cabriolet)<br />

The fuel filler flap<br />

Risk of accident G<br />

Never leave children unsupervised in the vehicle.<br />

They could open a locked door from<br />

the inside or start the engine using a key left<br />

in the vehicle, thereby endangering themselves<br />

and others. You should therefore never<br />

leave children unsupervised in the vehicle<br />

and always take the key with you when leaving<br />

the vehicle.
