ability to backfire. To do so, the witchfinder must ready an action, as<br />

if she readied a counterspell. She may affect any arcane spellcaster<br />

within 40 feet. The subject of arcane backfire is entitled to a Will<br />

save (DC 15 + 1/2 the witchfinder’s class level + the witchfinder’s<br />

Charisma modifier) to negate the effect. If the subject fails the saving<br />

throw, arcane backfire causes the spell to fail and deals 1d4 points of<br />

nonlethal damage per level of the spell to the caster.<br />

Witchfinder Spell List<br />

Witchfinders choose their spells from the following list.<br />

1st Level: bane, cure light wounds, divine favor, endure elements, light,<br />

magic weapon, resistance, virtue.<br />

2nd Level: bull’s strength, lesser restoration, owl’s wisdom, remove<br />

paralysis, resist energy, spiritual weapon, zone of truth.<br />

3rd Level: cure moderate wounds, discern lies, greater magic weapon,<br />

magic vestment, remove blindness/deafness, remove curse.<br />

4th Level: break enchantment, death ward, divine power, freedom of<br />

movement, neutralize poison, restoration.<br />

Wraez’kav<br />

The wraez’kav (“Born of the Wild,” in Lycanthus) are kav who<br />

embraced the animal within, becoming one with the power of<br />

nature. In kav society (especially among the primitive tribes of the<br />

Fristian Grasslands and Roaming Plains) wraez’kav are looked to as<br />

leaders who embody the essence of the kav.<br />

Hit Die: d10.<br />

Requirements<br />

To qualify to become a wraez’kav, a character must fulfill all the<br />

following criteria.<br />

Race: Kavraen or kavbroed.<br />

Base Aack Bonus: +6.<br />

Skills: Control Shape 4 ranks, Knowledge (nature) 8 ranks,<br />

Survival 4 ranks.<br />

Feats: Beast Speaker*, Endurance, Gi of Heritage (any Horde or<br />

Eaovata)*, Savage Warrior*, Toughness.<br />

Special: Wild Empathy ability.<br />

Spells: The ability to cast 1st-level druid or ranger spells.<br />

Class Skills<br />

The wraez’kav’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are<br />

Balance (Dex), Bluff (Cha), Climb (Str), Control Shape (Wis), Handle<br />

Animal (Cha), Hide (Dex), Intimidate (Cha), Jump (Str), Knowledge<br />

(nature) (Int), Listen (Wis), Move Silently (Dex), Search (Int), Spot<br />

(Wis), Swim (Str), and Survival (Wis). See Chapter Four: Skills in<br />

the PHB for skill descriptions.<br />

Skill Points at Each Level: 2 + Int modifier.<br />

Class Features<br />

All of the following are class features of the wraez’kav prestige<br />

class.<br />

Weapon and Armor Proficiency<br />

Wraez’kav gain no proficiency in any weapons or armor.<br />

Unarmed Attack Bonus<br />

Any time a wraez’kav makes an unarmed strike or a natural aack,<br />

he uses his unarmed aack bonus instead of his base aack bonus.<br />

Mind of the Beast (Ex)<br />

At 1st level, the wraez’kav’s mind is auned to his animal nature<br />

such that he gains a +4 bonus to saving throws against charm<br />

and compulsion spells and effects. Spells normally only affecting<br />

animals can affect a wraez’kav, and a wraez’kav doesn’t gain this<br />

+4 bonus against animal-oriented charm and compulsion effects<br />

(e.g., charm animal).<br />

Spells<br />

At 1st level, a wraez’kav gains the ability to cast a small number<br />

of divine spells, which are drawn from the wraez’kav spell list. A<br />
