with an ability equal to his level of experience<br />

+ his Int modifier.<br />

By virtue of this spell, the targeted undead<br />

gains +2 turn resistance or has its existing turn<br />

resistance increased by +2. When cast at 11th<br />

level, the bonus increases to +3. When cast at<br />

15th level, it increases to +4, and at 19th level, it<br />

increases to +5. You can affect a maximum of 2<br />

HD per caster level.<br />

An invisible pall descends on the target<br />

creatures, causing them to suffer a generalized<br />

ill health (–2 to Fortitude saves).<br />

The spells affects up to 10 HD of creatures<br />

per level of the caster. If there are too many<br />

potential targets, the caster picks creatures one<br />

at a time until the limit is reached.<br />

Dispel magic, heal, limited wish, miracle or wish<br />

all counter malaise.<br />

Usable only in conjunction with weapons for<br />

Finesse feats are possessed, the caster may<br />

aempt to parry any successful melee or<br />

unarmed aack against him by making a<br />

disarm roll, and may also use the weapon<br />

to parry missiles, as per the Deflect Arrows<br />

feat. Lastly, the character gains a bonus to any<br />

aempt to disarm an opponent’s weapon equal<br />

to his level of experience when using a suitable<br />

weapon, as previously outlined.<br />

Combined, the parrying, disarm and<br />

arrow deflection aspects of this spell may<br />

be aempted as many times in a round<br />

as the caster’s Base Aack Bonus. Using a<br />

parry, disarm, or arrow deflection granted<br />

by this spell never provokes an aack of<br />

opportunity.<br />

When the spell is cast, the target may make<br />

a Will save to negate its effects entirely. On a<br />

failed save, the target must make a Will save,<br />

as if resisting the spell, every time she wishes<br />

to undertake an important action. If the saving<br />

throw is failed, she instead wastes her time.<br />

This spell can only be removed by a limited<br />

wish, miracle, or wish, but not by remove curse.<br />

Pillar of the Earth<br />

As though he were a part of the earth itself,<br />

the spell’s target becomes resistant to certain<br />

aacks that would overbear him or upset his<br />

balance. Treat the target as though it were two<br />

sizes larger with regards to resisting actions<br />

such as a bull rush, grappling, overrun, or trip<br />

aempt. Finally, the target gains a +4 bonus to<br />

all Balance checks.<br />

Material Component: A fist-sized, sturdy<br />

Plague<br />

Spell Resistance: Yes<br />

The subjects contract pneumonic plague,<br />

which strikes its initial victims within 3-36<br />

(3d12) minutes. Subjects take a –2 penalty<br />

to save against this spell, and once they are<br />

infected, they quickly spread the disease to<br />

others. Secondary infections require a 1d4-day<br />

incubation period, aer which the victims<br />

suffer the effects of the disease and become<br />

contagious themselves.<br />

Pneumonic plague: Inhaled; Fort DC 20;<br />

Incubation 1d4 days; 1d6 Con damage.<br />

Transmied through coughs, sneezes or<br />

fluid contact, pneumonic plague’s symptoms<br />

include: chills, high fever, headache and<br />

blood in the lungs. Without treatment,<br />

pneumonic plague’s mortality rate is 100%,<br />

and unless its victims are quarantined the<br />

disease affects 1d20 people daily, spreading<br />

quickly to other communities via infected<br />

travelers.<br />

Plant Blight<br />

Spell Resistance: Yes<br />

This spell can be used one of two ways. It<br />

can target normal plants, reducing their<br />

potential production over the course of the<br />

following year to 10–40% (1d4 x 10%) of<br />

normal. Or if cast on a single plant creature<br />

or animated plant, the target suffers a<br />

permanent loss of 10% of its hit points every<br />

month until it dies or the spell is countered<br />

by plant growth, which stops the progression<br />

of the blight but doesn’t restore lost hit<br />

points.<br />

This spell counters any targeted fear or despair<br />

affects within its radius, although it does<br />

not prevent any further such effects that<br />

may occur aer its casting. The caster must<br />

successfully save against the DC of the source<br />

of the fear affecting those whom he wishes to<br />

rally, with a failed roll having no result and<br />

success meaning that the fear is removed. A<br />

separate roll is required for each target of the
