they expanded their purpose to wandering the land protecting the<br />

innocent and oppressed wherever they may be found. Despite their<br />

noble cause, many people fear the monks’ odd abilities so the Gavrinn<br />

Farr conceal their powers and disguise their faces.<br />

Like the Motith Farr, the Defenders of Wellness subscribe to a<br />

philosophy of non-violence, but realize one must occasionally resort<br />

to physical might to preserve the health of the spirit or body. To this<br />

end, the Gavrinn Farr train to be proficient warriors, although they<br />

hope never to use their martial knowledge.<br />

Requirements<br />

To qualify to become a Gavrinn Farr, a character must fulfill all the<br />

following criteria.<br />

Alignment: Any non-evil.<br />

Base Aack Bonus: +4.<br />

Skills: Autohypnosis 4 ranks, Concentration 6 ranks, Disguise 1<br />

rank, Knowledge (psionics) 6 ranks, Psicra 3 ranks.<br />

Feats: Combat Manifestation, Exotic Weapon Proficiency (mord’oi),<br />

Improved Unarmed Strike.<br />

Powers: Must be able to manifest empty mind and mental barrier.<br />

Class Skills<br />

The Gavrinn Farr’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are<br />

Autohypnosis (Wis), Balance (Dex), Climb (Str), Concentration (Con),<br />

Disguise (Cha), Escape Artist (Dex), Heal (Wis), Hide (Dex), Jump<br />

(Str), Knowledge (psionics) (Int), Move Silently (Dex), Psicra (Int),<br />

Spot (Wis), Swim (Str), Tumble (Dex), and Use Psionic Device (Cha).<br />

Skill Points at Each Level: 2 + Int modifier.<br />

Class Features<br />

All of the following are class features of the Gavrinn Farr prestige class.<br />

Weapon and Armor Proficiency<br />

Gavrinn Farr are proficient with simple weapons.<br />

Monk Abilities<br />

A Gavrinn Farr’s class levels stack with his monk levels for the purpose<br />

of determining unarmed damage, bonuses to Armor Class, and flurry<br />

of blows. His class levels do not apply to any other monk abilities.<br />

Mord’oi Mastery (Ex)<br />

At 1st level, the Gavrinn Farr gains a +1 insight bonus to his aack<br />

rolls when using a mord’oi, the favored weapon of the Defenders of<br />

Wellness. While wielding a mord’oi, the Gavrin Farr adds his Wisdom<br />

bonus (if any) to his initiative checks.<br />

Chapter Nine: Prestige Classes<br />

Unarmed Attack Mastery (Ex)<br />

Starting at 2nd level, the Defender of Wellness hones his unarmed<br />

fighting skills, gaining a +1 insight bonus to his aack rolls when<br />

making an unarmed strike.<br />

Bonus Feat<br />

Starting at 2nd level, and every two levels thereaer, a Gavrinn Farr<br />

gains a feat from the following list: Body Fuel†, Brawler*, Cleave,<br />

Combat Expertise, Cra Psionic Arms and Armor†, Deep Impact†,<br />

Great Fortitude, Improved Critical, Improved Disarm, Improved<br />

Initiative, Improved Sunder, Improved Two-Weapon Fighting,<br />

Improved Unarmed Strike, Iron Will, Lightning Reflexes, Mental<br />

Leap†, Mobility, Power Aack, Psionic Fist†, Psionic Weapon†, Quick<br />

Draw, Spring Aack, Stunning Fist, Two-Weapon Fighting, Weapon<br />

Focus (mord’oi), Weapon Focus (unarmed strike), Weapon Finesse,<br />

Weapon Specialization (mord’oi), Weapon Specialization (unarmed<br />

strike), Unavoidable Strike†, and Up The Walls†. A Gavrin Farr must<br />

meet all prerequisites for a bonus feat.<br />
