the district <strong>of</strong> Animas, a short distance south-east <strong>of</strong> Chocaya, and<br />

about 13,000 feet above sea-level (A. W. Stelzner), see estano (2),<br />

plata (2).<br />

LLIMPE, according to Humboldt, the name given to cinnabar (cinabrio)<br />

by the Mexican Indians ; llimpi, Peru, ores <strong>of</strong> red colour, generally<br />

cinnabar (Dwight).<br />

LLINQUI, Sandia, Peru, alluv. m. sterile zones, 15-20 cm. thick, composed<br />

<strong>of</strong> very argilaceous material, occurring in the large detritic<br />

deposits <strong>of</strong> glacial origin (L. Pfliicker).<br />
