countries 1 pertenencia <strong>of</strong> a vein mine = 1 hectare or 100 m. square,<br />

in Peru = 2 hectares or 200 m. long by 100 m. wide, in the Arg. =<br />

300 m. x 200 m. to 300 m. according to the dip, in Colombia = 600 m.<br />

x 240 m., a vein mine having three <strong>of</strong> these. In Mexico 1 pertenencia<br />

<strong>of</strong> gold-placers and irregular mineral deposits = 300 m. x 300 m. ;<br />

in Peru, coal-placers, etc., = 4 hectares ; equiv. Port. (Brazil) data<br />

(2).<br />
