AMIGO, horizontal stick, tied to the end of a rope, on which men sit
when ascending or descending shafts, etc., see bajada, caballo (3).
AMO, (1) overseer, see capataz (3) ; (2) Mex. owner of a mine, etc., see

AMOJONAMIENTO, setting landmarks, syn. mojonacion ; marking the
limits of a claim, see mojon (1).
AMOJONAR, to set landmarks, syn. mojonar ; to mark the limits of a
claim, see mojon ( 1 ).
AMOLADERA, grindstone or whetstone, syn. piedra a., see muela (4).
AMOLADOR, (1) grinder or whetter ; (2) steel for sharpening grindstone
[muela (4)].
AMOLADURA, (1) sharpening, grinding
; (2) amoladuras, fine sand
which comes from the grindstone when sharpening tools (Acad.).
AMOLAR, to whet or grind, see u. muela (4).
AMOLINAR, Ant. Col. (1) to collect ore spalled in different points in
order to send it to the mill ; (2) in minas de saca, to collect the ore in
order to wash it [cernir (2)] in the ground sluice [canalon (2)] ; (3) to
wash auriferous alluvium in a wooden box or gutter (Uribe.)
