PENA (Port, penha), (1) large stone or rock, unworked, in its natural<br />

PENASCO, (Port, penhasco). a large rock ; a bare rock, without vegetation,<br />

<strong>of</strong> very precipitous form and visible from a long distance ; an<br />

escarpment <strong>of</strong> rock, syn. pena (2), penado, penol, penon (1), see cancho,<br />

jorfe (2), risco (1), roca (1), teotines, tormo, torre-torre. NOTE. If<br />

double = tetilla.<br />
