ACOSTAR, to incline to one side (of buildings) ; to take a horizontal dip
(Ponce de Leon) ; acostarse, to dip in some new direction, see metal (5).

ACRISOLAR, to refine in a crucible, see afinar.
ACTIVAR, Mex. to quhken the chemical reactions in the torta (Dwight).
ACUEDUCTO, aqueduct, see u. servidumbre ; conduit, see alcantarilla,

ACUESCADO, see u. acerado (1).
ACULLICO, Peru, resting-hour (Dwight).
ACUMULADOR, (1) a. de mineral, large deposit for ore, see almacen (2) ;
(2) hyd. accumulator, syn. cumulador, regulador de presion ; mech.
ac3umulator, syn. condensador de fuerzas ; (3) el. accumulator.
ACUNACION, coining, milling ; coinage, syn. amonedacion.
ACUNADOR, coiner.
ACUNAR, (1) to coin, syn. amonedar, monedar ; (2) to wedge or fasten
with wedges, syn. calar (2).
ACUOSO, SA, adj. watery, aqueous.
ADARAJA, see diente (5).
ADARME, half a dram, or one-sixteenth part of a Spanish ounce, 1^ dwts.
nearly ; 1 adarme = 3 tomines = 36 grains = 1*792238 grammes. An
ore yielding 1 adarme of gold per carga contains about half an ounce of
gold per ton of 2000 Ib.
ADELGAZAMIENTO, (1) thinning out (of lode^, etc.) ; (2) thinning or
robbing (of pillars), see despilada.
ADELGAZAR, (1) to thin out (of lodes, etc.) ; (2) to thin or rob (pillars),
see despilar ; (3) Ant. Col. to separate gold and concentrates [jaguas
(3)] from sand and small stones, in order to facilitate the final washing.
