REVISADOR, (1), examiner <strong>of</strong> ore and waste separated by miners, syn.<br />

celador ; (2) examiner or inspector <strong>of</strong> machinery ; man over the<br />

palanqueros (2).<br />

REVISOR DE CUENTAS, auditor, see u. contador (1).<br />

REVOCAR, to plaster or whitewash, see blanquear.<br />

REVOCO, see revoque (2).<br />

REVOLTURA, (1) Mex. the mixing <strong>of</strong> the ore with fluxes, etc., before<br />

putting them in the furnace, constituting the charge, smelting or<br />

furnace charge or mixture, syn. revolturon, see u. carga (4) ; (2) the<br />

frequent stirring <strong>of</strong> mineral in desiccation or calcination.<br />

REVOQUE, ( 1 ) act <strong>of</strong> whitewashing ; (2) plaster, whitewash, syn. revoco,<br />

see u. lechada.<br />

REZAGA, REZAGO (remainder, residue), (1) ore left in a mine ;<br />

(2) waste or goaf, see relleno (3) ; (3) see grancero.<br />

REZAGADO, Mex. piled up (Dwight).<br />

REZUMADERO, see u. resumidero.<br />

RIA, mouth <strong>of</strong> a river, see desembocadero.<br />

RIACHUELO, RIATILLO, rivulet, stream, small river, see cano (3).<br />

RIBAZO,<br />

RIBERA, shore <strong>of</strong> the sea ; bank <strong>of</strong> a river, syn. banda (4), borde (1),<br />

margen, orilla (1), equiv. Port, barranceira, see playa (1). NOTE.<br />

Steep banks <strong>of</strong> rivers are called ribazos.<br />

RIBERO, bank or parapet <strong>of</strong> a dam, see presa (1).<br />

RIEGO, (1) irrigation ; (2) c.m. laying coal-dust by means <strong>of</strong> a sprayer<br />

or diffuser, syn. regadera (4), rociada ; (3) riegos, Ant. Col. fragments<br />

separated from the outcrop (creston) <strong>of</strong> a deposit, which have become<br />

rounded by the declivities <strong>of</strong> the ground, and which serve as guides to<br />

the monteadores or buscadores <strong>of</strong> veins (Uribe) ; float, shode (shoad) or<br />

shoad-stones <strong>of</strong> Cornw. Engl., syn. derrame (4) de veta, riegos rodados,<br />

rodados ( 1 ) or sueltos, equiv. Ger. Findlinge, Felsblocke, comp. rollo (2).<br />

RIEL, (1) small bar or ingot <strong>of</strong> crude gold, silver or copper, see barra (3) ;<br />

(2) transp. rail, see carril.<br />

RIELADO, DA, adj. reduced to ingots ; applied to gold, silver or copper.<br />

RIELERA, met. mould for ingots <strong>of</strong> gold, silver or copper, syn. Mex.<br />

ladrillera (2), lingotera.<br />

RIFLES, (from Engl.), S. Am. riffles, see tendido (5).<br />

RIGOLA, mech. prep, labyrinth (Ponce de Leon), see laberinto (1).<br />
