in diameter, sunk to work lodes at surface, or to reach pay-dirt, see cata

BARREDURA (sweeping), Ant. Col. (1) the conjunction of operations on
a certain portion of a placer mine, having for their object the catching
of the gold in the ground-sluice [canalon (2)] (Uribe), see tajo (5) ;
(2) sacar la b., to clean up [limpiar (2)] the gold as above ; (3) inguaca
mining, taking the earth away in thin layers with a sort of spatula
(paleta de hierro), see barrer.
