Note s biphenol failed to induce SSBs in the Chinese hasster cells . The SSBs was detected in
the -Chinesa _44nAfte-cells after the treatment of hydroquinone and peroxidase
simultaneously . These results suggest that the Induction of ∎icronuclei by benzene
follows after SSBs, and the several metabolites play an important role to Induce
micronuclei and myelotoxicity through localized setaboliss within the bone marro . such
as peroxidase-aediated metaboliss .

This study investigated the relationship of sister chromatid exchanges (SCE)

frequency between normal and Downs syndrome infants ^nd their parents .•Blood .lymphocytes
from 12 infants (3 females and 9 males) with Down's s'mdrome were cultured in RPHI-1640
medium containing 10 ug/ml of brocodeoxyuridine for 63h . The mean frequency of SCE per
metaphase for the patients (both sexes) was 9 .220 .8 which was significantly higher
