STUDENT SUCCTcs TEAMS<br />

Anyone who is connected with that student can be included in the SST to provide information to<br />

share about the student's strengths, concerns and strategies that have been used in the past.<br />

These people may include but are not limited to teachers, parents, counselors, doctors,<br />

administrators, social workers, and law enforcement. The meeting is designed to bring out the<br />

best in people involved.<br />

The suggested protocol for SST's includes:<br />

ci Team members introduce themselves and their roles<br />

ci Purpose and process of the meeting are stated<br />

ci Timekeeper/note taker is appointed<br />

Strengths are identified<br />

Concerns are discussed clarified, and listed<br />

o Pertinent information and modification are listed<br />

ci Concerns are synthesized; one or two are chosen for focus<br />

ci Strategies to address concerns are brainstormed<br />

ci Team chooses best strategies to carry into actions<br />

ci Individuals make commitments to actions<br />

ci Person responsible and timelines for actions are recorded<br />

ci Follow up date is set.<br />
