The cost of a due process hearing or other legal proceeding that results from special education
issues shall be the responsibility of the district as it would with legal proceedings involving other district
schools. Integrity Educational Center shall not initiate a due process hearing or other legal proceeding
related to special education without the written consent of the district superintendent or their designee.
FUNDING:
The parties agree that, pursuant to the division of responsibilities set forth in this agreement, the
Integrity Educational Center has elected, at least for its first year of operation, the status of any other
blic school in the district for purposes of Special Education services for the school, consistent with

it provides at its public schools that shall be consistent with the division of responsibility. The
district shall retain all State and Federal Special Education funding allocated for IEC students through
SELPA. The district shall be responsible for all costs related to the service of IEC students in the same
manner, as it is responsible for the cost of serving other students of the district.
In compliance with Education Code section 47646 (C), the charter school will contribute a
equitable share of its charter school, block grant funding to support district wide special education
instruction and services. The exact figure will be calculated by the district and communicated to IEC no
later than March of each year for the subsequent year in order to allow for adequate financial planning.
