5.19 Health Check<br />

5.19.1 Loco unit shall continuously check its health status including its<br />

communication with other Loco / Station unit. If the health status is not found<br />

OK, the same shall be displayed on Loco unit LP-OCIP & Loco unit shall<br />

switch to Failure Mode.<br />

5.19.2 Loco unit units while in communication with station shall upload its health<br />

status& Brake Interface unit (BIU) isolation status to station unit. The station<br />

unit units shall transfer the in<strong>for</strong>mation so received from Loco unit units &its<br />

own event log to a Centralized Management <strong>System</strong> on real time basis. The<br />

Centralized Management <strong>System</strong> shall have suitable management s<strong>of</strong>tware<br />

<strong>for</strong> diagnostics, maintenance & analysis purpose.<br />

5.19.3 Loco unit shall also transmit its health & BIU isolation in<strong>for</strong>mation to<br />

Centralized Management <strong>System</strong> through its GSM.<br />

5.19.4 If Loco unit, even in unhealthy condition, is able to communicate with station<br />

unit, this in<strong>for</strong>mation shall be communicated to station unit, which then will be<br />

transmitted to the Centralized Management <strong>System</strong> located in the control<br />

room. Loco unit shall also transmit this in<strong>for</strong>mation to Centralized<br />

Management <strong>System</strong> through its GSM.<br />

5.20 Interoperability: The Loco unit <strong>of</strong> a manufacturer shall be interoperable with<br />

Station unit& track-side equipments <strong>of</strong> another manufacturer & vice versa.<br />

5.21 Direction detection in tunnels: Duplicated RFID tags at suitable interval shall<br />

be provided on track in tunnels to detect the traffic direction <strong>of</strong> the train.<br />

5.22 All the messages displayed on LP’s and SM’s OCIP shall be got approved from<br />

RDSO & shall be logged in respective data logger alongwith date, time & other<br />

relevant in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

5.23 The Loco unit shall have capability to be interfaced with two OCIPs, if required,<br />

in locomotives having two driving cabs or two driving positions in the same cab.<br />

In such cases, except the SOS buttons all other functionality <strong>of</strong> other OCIP i.e.,<br />

<strong>of</strong> non-driving cab/ position shall get disabled automatically.<br />

5.24 Loco unit, Station unit& Centralized server shall also have GSM interface <strong>for</strong><br />

transfer <strong>of</strong> log & other events to Centralized Management <strong>System</strong> directly in<br />

addition to other communication link between Loco & Station unit and between<br />

Station unit& Central Server.<br />

5.25 In case <strong>of</strong> more than one situations/ scenarios existing at the same time, the<br />

Loco unit shall take action as per the most restrictive situation/ scenario.The<br />

Loco unit shall make speed pr<strong>of</strong>ile/ brake curve <strong>for</strong> different situations based on<br />

movement authority, speed restriction and other in<strong>for</strong>mation as received from<br />

Stationary unit or Loco unit. Loco unit shall take action as per the most<br />

restricted speed pr<strong>of</strong>ile/ brake curve at any point <strong>of</strong> time.<br />

5.26 Wherever Station unit is referred, it shall also mean Station or IBS or Gate unit.<br />

5.27 Once a situation is detected by Loco unit based on the in<strong>for</strong>mation received by<br />

it, which warrants application <strong>of</strong> brake & further update <strong>of</strong> in<strong>for</strong>mation is not<br />

available, the action <strong>for</strong> brake application shall be initiated or continued if<br />

already initiated as per the brake curve at the time receipt <strong>of</strong> last in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

Further update <strong>of</strong> brake curve shall be done only after start <strong>of</strong> receipt <strong>of</strong> further<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />
