6.12. Each station/ IBS/ mid-section interlocked Gate/ Loco unit radio equipments<br />

shall be as per specifications:<br />

a. Shall be FCC certified<br />

b. Shall possess RTS/CTS and DOX modes<br />

c. Shall be capable RF Data Transfer in “Bitwise” / streaming Mode<br />

d. RF frequency range: 405-512MHz<br />

e. RF Channel Bandwidth : 25kHz<br />

f. Modes <strong>of</strong> operation Full Duplex<br />

g. Modulation : 2FSK<br />

h. Operating frequencies :<br />

1) Transmission by Station / Interlocked LC Gate / IBS : 466.8 MHz<br />

2) Regular Transmission by Loco : 441.8 MHz<br />

3) Additional Transmission by Loco dedicatedly <strong>for</strong> emergency : 466.8<br />

MHz<br />

i. Emission : according to 16K0F2D<br />

j. Transmitter freq. stability : 1 ppm<br />

k. Transmitter Turn-on time (Tx. Freq. stable)/ Channel Switching time: not<br />

more than 15msec<br />

l. Carrier Output Power: 1-10 w adjustable through s<strong>of</strong>tware.<br />

m. Receiver BER : 1 x 10 -6 or better at 25kHz Bandwidth<br />

n. Receiver Adjacent Channel Rejection 70dB at 25kHz<br />

o. Receiver Sensitivity: 35 micro-volts <strong>for</strong> 12 dB SINAD /<br />

r. RS485 ports (COM2) shall be internally wired through built-in modem <strong>for</strong><br />

interfacing with Quad Cable Network. The modem shall support V.34 as<br />

well as V.90 modulation as per ITU-T.<br />

s. RF Impedance : 50 ohm<br />

t. Power 10-30V, negative ground, snap & Lock 4-pin DC Power Jack<br />

u. Set-up and Diagnostic features to be available through separate port DE-<br />

9F.<br />

v. Capable <strong>of</strong> being configured as Repeater.<br />

w. Antenna Cable – Low loss Coaxial cable with 50Ω characteristic<br />

impedance, suitable <strong>for</strong> UHF applications.<br />

x. Antenna <strong>for</strong> station/ IBS/ mid-section interlocked Gate unit– It shall be<br />

combination <strong>of</strong> vertically polarized omni and/ or directive antennae. The<br />

antenna cable & antenna shall be suitable to provide a range <strong>of</strong> 3.5 Kms<br />

radius <strong>of</strong> communication.<br />

y. Radio modems connected through Hot-Standby Switch.<br />

z. Height <strong>of</strong> the station antenna:<br />

1) Above ground level : 40m Max.<br />

2) Above top <strong>of</strong> building (in case<br />

antenna is proposed to be installed<br />

on the ro<strong>of</strong> top <strong>of</strong> the building) : 4 m Max.<br />

6.13. Station/ IBS/ Gate unit as well as Loco unit shall have hot standby radio <strong>for</strong><br />

higher availability.<br />

6.14. The power output <strong>of</strong> the radio, antenna cable & type <strong>of</strong> antenna <strong>of</strong> Station/ IBS/<br />

Gate unit shall be so adjusted/ selected that uninterrupted communication<br />

between Loco unit’ & Station/ IBS/ Gate unit is available <strong>for</strong> minimum 3.5 Kms<br />

in block section.<br />

6.15. The Station / Interlocked LC Gates / IBS unit shall periodically transmit in a<br />

manner not to cause clashing <strong>of</strong> signals from two such stationary units. The<br />
