21–12. General guidelines<br />

a. The skirt is worn no longer than 1 inch above, or 2 inches below the crease in the back <strong>of</strong> the knee. The black<br />

scarf <strong>and</strong> the black leather dress gloves are authorized for wear with the black all-weather coat. Personnel may wear<br />

white gloves with the basic uniform. Females may carry the black leather h<strong>and</strong>bag during duty or after duty hours; they<br />

may carry the black fabric h<strong>and</strong>bag only after duty hours, however. When weather conditions warrant, the AG 489<br />

cold-weather cap is authorized for wear with the black all-weather coat or the capes. Black pumps <strong>and</strong> sheer stockings<br />

are the authorized footwear for this uniform. After duty hours, personnel may wear the black fabric pumps with this<br />

uniform. (See para 28–10e for information on color ornamentation <strong>and</strong> branch insignia for detailed <strong>of</strong>ficers.)<br />

b. Enlisted personnel assigned to units authorized by CTA 50–900 to wear the <strong>Army</strong> blue uniform as an organizational<br />

uniform, such as table <strong>of</strong> organization <strong>and</strong> equipment (TOE) b<strong>and</strong>s, selected honor guards, <strong>and</strong> other ceremonial<br />

units, may wear distinctive unit insignia (DUI), Military Police accessories, <strong>and</strong> other items authorized by CTA<br />

50–900, when prescribed by the comm<strong>and</strong>er.<br />

c. Soldiers who possess the old version <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Army</strong> blue coat will wear one branch <strong>and</strong> one U.S. insignia on the<br />

collar. Those who possess the new version <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Army</strong> blue coat will wear their insignia as they do on the <strong>Army</strong> green<br />

coat (see paras 28–4 <strong>and</strong> 28–12 <strong>of</strong> this regulation).<br />
