25–6. Skirts<br />

a. The <strong>Army</strong> blue mess skirt is knee length, with a one-piece front with waist darts (one on each side), a four-piece<br />

back, a slide-fastener closure on the left side, <strong>and</strong> a sewn-on waistb<strong>and</strong> that is closed with three hooks <strong>and</strong> eyes. The<br />

skirt is fully lined.<br />

b. The <strong>Army</strong> blue evening mess skirt is full length, with a one-piece front with waist darts (one on each side), a<br />

four-piece back, a slide-fastener closure on the left side, a sewn-on waistb<strong>and</strong> that is closed with three hooks <strong>and</strong> eyes,<br />

<strong>and</strong> an overlapped center back pleat. The skirt is fully lined.<br />

25–7. Blouse, white formal<br />

The blouse is a tuck-in style made <strong>of</strong> polyester <strong>and</strong> cotton fabric with a front closure containing seven removable<br />

dome-shaped buttons. On each side <strong>of</strong> the front opening, there are three vertical rows <strong>of</strong> ruffles. The blouse has short<br />

sleeves <strong>and</strong> a rounded collar.<br />

25–8. Neck tab, black, dress<br />

The material is polyester <strong>and</strong> cotton broadcloth, in <strong>Army</strong> shade 305. It is a quarter-moon neck tab, which fits under the<br />

collar <strong>of</strong> the white formal blouse.<br />

25–9. Capes, <strong>Army</strong> black <strong>and</strong> blue<br />

As an option, all female <strong>of</strong>ficers are authorized to wear the <strong>Army</strong> blue or the <strong>Army</strong> black cape, instead <strong>of</strong> the black allweather<br />

coat, when wearing the <strong>Army</strong> blue uniform after duty hours. Enlisted personnel may not wear the cape. (See<br />

paras 27–6a <strong>and</strong> b for a complete description.)<br />

25–10. Cummerbund, black<br />

The cummerbund will be made from a commercial design. It is made <strong>of</strong> silk or satin material, with four or five pleats<br />

running the entire length <strong>of</strong> the cummerbund. The black cummerbund is worn with the pleats facing down.<br />

25–11. Headgear<br />

No headgear is authorized for wear by female personnel with the <strong>Army</strong> blue mess or blue evening mess uniforms.<br />

25–12. Items normally worn with the <strong>Army</strong> blue mess <strong>and</strong> blue evening mess uniforms<br />

a. Accessories.<br />

(1) Buttons (para 27–4).<br />

(2) Capes.<br />

(a) Black (para 27–6a).<br />

(3) Coat, black all weather (para 27–8).<br />

(a) Black, leather, unisex, dress (only when the black all-weather coat is worn) (para 27–12b).<br />

(5) H<strong>and</strong>bag, black, dress fabric (para 27–13b).<br />

(6) Scarf, black (para 27–21a).<br />

(7) Shoes, pumps, black (paras 27–23f <strong>and</strong> g).<br />

(8) Stockings, sheer (para 27–24d).<br />

(9) Umbrella, black (para 27–27).<br />

(10) Undergarments (para 27–28).<br />

b. <strong>Insignia</strong>, awards, badges, <strong>and</strong> accouterments worn on the <strong>Army</strong> blue mess <strong>and</strong> evening mess uniforms.<br />

(1) Aiguillette, dress (<strong>of</strong>ficers only) (para 28–26).<br />

(2) <strong>Insignia</strong>.<br />

(a) Branch (paras 28–10 <strong>and</strong> 28–12a). Officers wear branch insignia as prescribed in para 25–5e(1) <strong>and</strong> (3).<br />

(b) Grade (paras 28–5 through 28–8). Officers wear grade insignia as prescribed in para 25–5e(1) <strong>and</strong> (2).<br />

(c) Regimental distinctive insignia (para 28–23).<br />

(3) Service stripes (enlisted personnel only) (para 28–27).<br />

(4) Decorations <strong>and</strong> service medals, miniature (para 29–9).<br />
