(2) Lieutenant general. The non-subdued grade insignia has three silver-colored, five-pointed stars, each 1 inch in<br />

diameter. Medium silver-colored stars, 3 ⁄4 inch in diameter <strong>and</strong> miniature silver-colored stars, 5 ⁄8 inch in diameter, also<br />

are authorized. The subdued grade insignia is the same as above, except the color is black (see fig 28–29).<br />

(3) Major general. The non-subdued grade insignia has two silver-colored, five-pointed stars, each 1 inch in<br />

diameter. Medium silver-colored stars, 3 ⁄4 inch in diameter, <strong>and</strong> miniature silver-colored stars, 5 ⁄8 inch in diameter, also<br />

are authorized. The subdued grade insignia is the same as above, except the color is black (see fig 28–30).<br />

(4) Brigadier general. The non-subdued grade insignia has one silver-colored, five-pointed star, 1 inch in diameter.<br />

Medium silver-colored stars, 3 ⁄4 inch in diameter, <strong>and</strong> miniature silver-colored stars, 5 ⁄8 inch in diameter, also are<br />

authorized. The subdued grade insignia is the same as above, except the color is black (see fig 28–31).<br />

b. How worn.<br />

(1) Non-subdued.<br />

(a) The appropriate number <strong>of</strong> stars is worn centered on the shoulder loops, equidistant between the outside edge <strong>of</strong><br />

the shoulder loop <strong>and</strong> the outer edge <strong>of</strong> the shoulder loop button on the <strong>Army</strong> green <strong>and</strong> white uniform coats, black allweather<br />

coat, <strong>and</strong> the windbreaker. Stars are worn “point to ‘V’” on shoulder loops (see fig 28–32).<br />
