Soldiers are required to possess the clothing items listed in table E–1, in the quantities shown. Soldiers may purchase
and wear optional items authorized by this regulation.
E–2. Approved optional items
Items identified by an “X” in the optional item column are authorized in lieu of the specification item. These items
have been approved by the Army and contain the required certification label.
E–3. Optional items that need not be approved
Those items identified by an “*” in the optional item column are authorized in lieu of the specification item and are not
