(b) When personnel wear both the subdued Drill Sergeant <strong>and</strong> Career Counselor badges on utility uniforms, the Drill<br />

Sergeant badge is worn to the right <strong>of</strong> the Career Counselor badge. Officers who were awarded the Drill Sergeant<br />

badge as a permanent award while in an enlisted status are authorized to wear the badge.<br />

(8) The U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Recruiter identification badge, Active <strong>Army</strong>/<strong>Army</strong> Reserve, is worn on the left side.<br />

(a) This badge is authorized for wear by military personnel assigned or attached to the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Recruiting<br />

Comm<strong>and</strong> (USAREC) as designated by the CG, USAREC. (See AR 600–8–22 for eligibility criteria.) Personnel may<br />

wear only one recruiter badge at a time.<br />

(b) This badge is authorized as a non-subdued metal badge <strong>and</strong> as a subdued embroidered cloth badge. The subdued<br />

badge is embroidered on olive-green cloth (silver badge) or black cloth (gold badge). The subdued badge is worn on<br />

utility uniforms <strong>and</strong> field jackets, with the badge centered on the left breast pocket between the bottom <strong>of</strong> the pocket<br />

flap <strong>and</strong> the bottom <strong>of</strong> the pocket, as measured from the insignia, not the cloth backing. Personnel will wear the<br />

subdued badge with the background material intact.<br />

(c) Officers who were awarded the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Recruiter badge as a permanent award while in an enlisted status are<br />

authorized to wear the badge.<br />

(9) The Career Counselor identification badge is worn on the right side. Only enlisted personnel in CMF 79 are<br />

authorized wear <strong>of</strong> this badge. (See AR 600–8–22 for eligibility criteria.)<br />

(a) The badge is authorized as a non-subdued metal badge in a small <strong>and</strong> large version, <strong>and</strong> as a subdued<br />

embroidered cloth badge. The subdued badge is embroidered on green cloth <strong>and</strong> is worn on the utility uniforms <strong>and</strong><br />

field jackets with the badge centered on the right breast pocket, between the bottom <strong>of</strong> the pocket flap <strong>and</strong> the bottom<br />

<strong>of</strong> the pocket, as measured from the insignia, not the cloth backing. Personnel will wear the subdued badge with the<br />

background material intact.<br />

(b) When both the Career Counselor identification <strong>and</strong> Drill Sergeant badges are worn, the Drill Sergeant badge is<br />

worn to the right <strong>of</strong> the Career Counselor badge. Personnel wear the non-subdued Career Counselor badge on the black<br />

pullover sweater instead <strong>of</strong> the DUI or RDI.<br />

(10) The Recruiting <strong>and</strong> Retention identification badges, ARNG, are worn on the left side.<br />

(a) Basic <strong>and</strong> Senior badges. (See NGR 601–1 for eligibility criteria.) These badges are authorized as non-subdued<br />

metal badges <strong>and</strong> as subdued embroidered cloth badges. The non-subdued basic badge is silver <strong>and</strong> the senior badge is<br />

gold. The subdued basic badge is a black minuteman on green cloth, <strong>and</strong> the subdued senior badge is a green<br />

minuteman on black cloth. The basic <strong>and</strong> senior badges are authorized for temporary wear only while assigned to a<br />

recruiting position, or to occasional recruiting duties. Officers may wear this as a temporary badge if assigned to<br />

recruiting duties.<br />

(b) Master badge. The non-subdued master badge is a gold badge surrounded by a wreath. The subdued badge is a<br />

black minuteman on green cloth, surrounded by a black wreath. This badge is authorized for permanent wear. After<br />

ARNG master-level recruiters leave recruiting duty, they may wear the master badge on the class A uniform; they may<br />

wear the badge on the AG shade 415 shirt only when all other awards <strong>and</strong> decorations are worn. Officers who were<br />

awarded the Recruiting <strong>and</strong> Retention badge, Master, as a permanent award while in an enlisted recruiter status, or as<br />

an AMEDD recruiter, are authorized to wear the badge.<br />

(c) Personnel wear the subdued badges on utility uniforms <strong>and</strong> field jackets, with the badge centered on the left<br />

breast pocket between the bottom <strong>of</strong> the pocket flap <strong>and</strong> the bottom <strong>of</strong> the pocket, as measured from the insignia, not<br />

the cloth backing. Personnel will wear the subdued badge with the background material intact. Only one recruiter<br />

badge is authorized for wear at a time. Soldiers currently on recruiting duty will wear the recruiter badge <strong>of</strong> their<br />

component.<br />

(11) The Unified Combatant Comm<strong>and</strong>er identification badge is worn on the left side. The design <strong>of</strong> the badge is<br />

unique to the respective comm<strong>and</strong>. The badge is authorized for wear by personnel assigned to the Combatant<br />

Comm<strong>and</strong>er’s staff, <strong>and</strong> by personnel assigned to subordinate unified comm<strong>and</strong>s <strong>and</strong> direct reporting units to the<br />

unified comm<strong>and</strong>, at the direction <strong>of</strong> the Unified Combatant Comm<strong>and</strong>er. The badge is worn on the class A <strong>and</strong> B<br />

uniforms, <strong>and</strong> on the <strong>Army</strong> dress, mess, <strong>and</strong> evening mess uniforms.<br />

(12) The National Defense University (NDU) identification badge is worn on the right side. Personnel assigned to<br />

the faculty or staff <strong>of</strong> NDU; the National War College, Industrial College <strong>of</strong> the Armed Forces; or the Armed Forces<br />

Staff College are authorized to wear the badge during their assignment.<br />

(13) The Military Police badge is worn on the left side. The Military Police badge is the symbol <strong>of</strong> law enforcement<br />

authority vested in Military Police <strong>and</strong> is worn only in the performance <strong>of</strong> law enforcement duties.<br />

(a) The Military Police badge is worn on the <strong>Army</strong> green uniform coat when MPs wear the coat as an outer<br />

garment. Males wear the badge centered below the pocket flap on the left breast pocket (see fig 29–82). Females wear<br />

the badge centered or aligned to the left above the service ribbons (see fig 29–83). The badge is attached to the outer<br />

garment by using a pin clasp or a leather fob.<br />
