insignia, secured through the front eyelet, on the service caps <strong>and</strong> drill sergeant hat.<br />

(1) Commissioned <strong>of</strong>ficers. The insignia is the coat <strong>of</strong> arms <strong>of</strong> the United States, 2 3 ⁄8 inches in height, in goldcolored<br />

metal (see fig 28–3).<br />

(2) Warrant <strong>of</strong>ficers. The insignia is an eagle rising with wings displayed, st<strong>and</strong>ing on a bundle <strong>of</strong> two arrows,<br />

enclosed in a wreath. The insignia is 1 1 ⁄2 inches in height, in gold-colored metal (see fig 28–4).<br />

(3) Sergeant Major <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Army</strong>. The insignia is the coat <strong>of</strong> arms <strong>of</strong> the United States within a wreath, 1–15/16<br />

inches in height, in gold-colored metal (see fig 28–5).<br />
