3.7 Remote Communications<br />

The equipment shall include comprehensive metering and monitoring functions.<br />

The equipment shall provide real-time feedback of operating conditions, including:<br />

• average current<br />

• L1, L2 & L3 currents<br />

• average voltage<br />

• L1, L2 & L3 voltages<br />

• mains frequency<br />

• motor real power consumption (kVA)<br />

• motor active power consumption (kW)<br />

• motor power factor<br />

• elapsed running time<br />

• time to run before programmed stop (when running)<br />

The equipment shall provide feedback of historical operating information, including:<br />

• lifetime hours run<br />

• lifetime start count<br />

• resettable hours run<br />

• resettable start count<br />

• resettable kWh count<br />

The control interface shall allow the user to select which parameters to display on<br />

the LCD.<br />

The equipment shall record full details of its state at the time of every protection<br />

activation. The recorded details shall include, at minimum:<br />

• time and date stamp.<br />

• protection type<br />

• motor operating status<br />

• mains frequency<br />

• line current<br />

• line voltage<br />

The equipment's protection log shall store no fewer than eight trips.<br />

The equipment shall record all changes to its configuration.<br />

The equipment's change log shall store no fewer than 99 events.<br />

The starter must have the ability to download parameters and monitor via a<br />

computer during commissioning.<br />

Optional Remote communications be available for the following interfaces to both<br />

monitor and control the soft starter.<br />

• Modbus RTU<br />

• Profibus<br />

• DeviceNet<br />
