Description of Program: The A.A.S. degree in Construction<br />
Management prepares you for employment as a construction<br />
project manager, job site supervisor, estimator, office<br />
manager, or contractor. PROGRAM Course DELETED content includes, but is not<br />
limited to, communication **Contact skills, an advisor.** leadership skills, human<br />
relations and employability skills, safe and effi cient work<br />
practices, construction practices, building codes, blueprint<br />
reading, personnel and resource management skills, safety,<br />
site selection, and planning and building residential and<br />
commercial structures.<br />

CORRECTIONAL OFFICER<br />
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATE<br />
Program Code: 3270<br />
Description of Program: This program is designed to train<br />
you to become a correctional offi cer in the state of <strong>Florida</strong>,<br />
and it meets the state requirements as approved by the<br />
Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. Upon<br />
successful completion of this occupational program, you<br />
will be eligible to take the state certifi cation examination<br />
to become a certifi ed offi cer. You must attend all sessions<br />
of training and score a minimum of 80 percent on all<br />
examinations per Administrative Rule.<br />
You must:<br />
SPECIAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS<br />
1. obtain authorization from the director of Public Service<br />
prior to registering for all or part of this program.<br />
2. possess a valid <strong>Florida</strong> Driver’s License.<br />
3. be 19 years of age prior to graduation from the Academy.<br />
4. be a citizen of the United <strong>State</strong>s of America.<br />
5. submit to a background inquiry prior to admission (additional<br />
fee for fingerprint submission).<br />
6. not have a record of conviction for any felony or<br />
misdemeanor involving moral turpitude or domestic violence.<br />
7. successfully pass a Basic Abilities Test (additional fee)<br />
prior to admission.<br />
8. complete an Academy Application prior to admission.<br />
9. pass a physical exam for physical fi tness training.<br />
* Weapons and uniforms that meet academy specifications<br />
are your responsibility. See academy staff for details.<br />
* You must register for these classes as a “block” of<br />
instruction.<br />
