independent studies. A mandatory orientation is held the<br />

COMMERCIAL AIR CONDITIONING<br />
APPRENTICESHIP<br />
Program Code: 3901<br />
Description of Program: The Commercial Air Conditioning<br />
Apprenticeship Program is sponsored by the Heartland Air<br />
Conditioning Apprenticeship Committee. Program completion<br />
requires that you perform 640 hours of related class training<br />
and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training (OJT). Related class<br />
training hours may count towards completion, but OJT hours<br />
are not recorded until you are indentured to a participating<br />
employer. The Commercial Air Conditioning Apprenticeship<br />
program is a selective admission program restricted to<br />
individuals who are employed in the air conditioning industry<br />
and are working for a participating employer. Prospective<br />
students who are currently working for a participating<br />
employer in this area are encouraged to apply for selection<br />
to the Apprenticeship Committee before August of each year.<br />

recognized by the United <strong>State</strong>s Department of Labor, Bureau<br />
