Description of Program: The A.A.S. degree in Drafting and<br />
Design Technology prepares you for a career as an assistant<br />
to architects, engineers, manufacturers, or building contractors.<br />
The drafting and design technician translates ideas, sketches,<br />
or written specifications into working drawings. Course content<br />
includes, but is not limited to, communication skills; leadership<br />
skills; human relations and employability skills; safe and<br />
effi cient work practices; drafting standards; math skills and<br />
drafting offi ce practices to assist mechanical, electrical, and<br />
electronic, architectural, chemical, civil, or other engineers<br />
in the design and drafting of electrical circuits, machines,<br />
structures, and architectural plans.<br />

Description of Program: The Drafting certifi cate prepares<br />
you for employment as drafting assistants. The course<br />
content includes, but is not limited to, communication<br />
skills, leadership skills, human relations and employability<br />
skills, safe and effi cient work practices, blueprint machine<br />
operation, use of drafting tools and equipment, drafting skills,<br />
charts and graphs, computer aided drawings, and technical<br />
mathematics. This is a limited access program. Required<br />
for admission - TABE scores: Mathematics 10, Language 9,<br />
and Reading, 9.<br />
