Description of Program: The A.A.S. degree in Drafting and
Design Technology prepares you for a career as an assistant
to architects, engineers, manufacturers, or building contractors.
The drafting and design technician translates ideas, sketches,
or written specifications into working drawings. Course content
includes, but is not limited to, communication skills; leadership
skills; human relations and employability skills; safe and
effi cient work practices; drafting standards; math skills and
drafting offi ce practices to assist mechanical, electrical, and
electronic, architectural, chemical, civil, or other engineers
in the design and drafting of electrical circuits, machines,
structures, and architectural plans.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATE

Description of Program: The Drafting certifi cate prepares
you for employment as drafting assistants. The course
content includes, but is not limited to, communication
skills, leadership skills, human relations and employability
skills, safe and effi cient work practices, blueprint machine
operation, use of drafting tools and equipment, drafting skills,
charts and graphs, computer aided drawings, and technical
mathematics. This is a limited access program. Required
for admission - TABE scores: Mathematics 10, Language 9,
and Reading, 9.
