An introduction to transparent and opaque water color<br />
painting. Emphasis is on compositional design and the use<br />

Watercolor II is a continuation of Watercolor I with emphasis<br />

ASL 2130 AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE III 3 cr. hrs.<br />
Intermediate American Sign Language (ASL III) is an<br />
intermediate course designed for you, if you have previous<br />
coursework from ASL I and II with labs. ASL III continues<br />
development of conversational skills in ASL with strong<br />
emphasis on narratives. The development of non-written<br />
narratives will increase both comprehension and expressive<br />
skills specifi c to the deaf culture. This course will present<br />
you with the structure, conversational vocabulary and<br />
grammatical principles, regional and idiomatic usages of<br />
American Sign Language while also focusing on the historical,<br />
cultural, and social aspects of deafness. Prerequisites: ASL<br />
2140C, ASL 2150C, and labs. (TR)<br />
ASL 2140C AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE I 4 cr. hrs.<br />
Introduction to American Sign Language (ASL I), as used in<br />
the deaf community. General discussion of ASL structure and<br />
introduction to various manual communication systems and<br />
philosophies. Emphasis on building a basic sign vocabulary.<br />

ASL 2150C AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE II 4 cr. hrs.<br />
A continuation of the basic course which expands your<br />
signing skills and introduces ASL idioms. Provides a greater<br />
opportunity for skill development in ASL structure and<br />
idiomatic usage. Prerequisite: ASL 2140C. Lab required. (TR)<br />
AST 1002 DESCRIPTIVE ASTRONOMY 3 cr. hrs.<br />
An introduction to the astronomical universe for non-science<br />
majors including historical development, astronomical<br />
instruments, methods of discovery, motions of celestial<br />
objects, evolution of stars, and a description of the members<br />
of the solar system, galaxy, and universe. (TR)<br />
AST 1002L DESCRIPTIVE ASTRONOMY LAB 1 cr. hr.<br />
This is an optional lab for AST 1002 Descriptive Astronomy.<br />
It provides an opportunity to perform indoor and outdoor<br />
experiments, exercises, measurements, and observations of<br />
