This course provides paramedic rescue emergencies<br />

instruction for the Paramedic Certifi cate Program and meets<br />

the requirements of the National Highway Safety Traffi c<br />

Administration National Standards Curriculum. Course<br />

instruction includes: rescue awareness and operations;<br />

ambulance operations; hazardous materials; crime scene<br />

awareness; and EMS response to terrorism. Prerequisite:<br />

crisis intervention, extrication and transportation, and disaster<br />

in the mechanics of composition including a research paper.<br />

This course introduces college-level writing, researching,<br />

Designed to develop your ability to read literature critically<br />

on style; exposure to various literary genres; and planning,<br />

writing, and documenting short research papers and<br />

critical essays. Prerequisite: Successful completion of ENC<br />

The study and practice of various forms of technical writing to<br />

include: abstracts, reviews, reports, articles, and speeches.<br />

Emphasis is on scientifi c and technical ideas and effective<br />

verbal presentation of these ideas. Prerequisite: Successful<br />

ENL 20<strong>12</strong> BRITISH LITERATURE I 3 cr. hrs.<br />

This course is a survey of the development of British literature<br />

from Anglo-Saxon times through the eighteenth century,<br />

with attention to the historical background, the continuity of<br />

essential traditions, and the characteristic fl avor of the other<br />

subsequent periods. Critical essays and oral reports are<br />

assigned. Prerequisite: Successful completion of ENC 1101<br />
