REVISED PROGRAM
EFFECTIVE FALL 2012
NURSING
(Transition - LPN to RN)
ASSOCIATE IN SCIENCE
Program Code: 1560
Program requirements are changing for the Transition LPN to RN Program (1560) effective August 2012 (fall term).
The new program prerequisites must be completed by the end of spring term for summer 2012 applicants starting
in August 2012. If you have any questions, contact the Allied Health Advisor at (863) 784-7290.
Description of Program: This one-year academic program is designed for you, if you are a Licensed Practical Nurse who wishes
to become an Associate Degree Nurse (ADN). The program, by building on previously acquired knowledge and skills, provides the
skills complete the ADN requirements needed to be eligible to take the NCLEX exam for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
The Florida Board of Nursing has the authority to deny a license to you, if you are found guilty of violating Florida Statute 456.0635.
Length: One (1) year (72 credit hours - 10 credit hours articulate with current Florida Practical Nursing licensure and
competency validation by the Nursing Acceleration Challenge Exam (ACE) I - PN-RN).
You should consult with a counselor/advisor prior to enrolling in this program. Admission is once each year in the
second summer term for the traditional full-time program. Application packets will be accepted beginning the second
week in January until the second Friday in April. Admission is once every other year in the spring term for the part-time
three day per week Hardee Campus program. Application packets will be accepted beginning the second week in August
