and disorders, hygiene, product knowledge, chemistry, ethics,<br />

topics. Upon completion, you should be able to safely and<br />

competently apply cosmetology concepts in the salon setting.<br />

COS 0081 COSMETOLOGY CONCEPTS II<br />

This course covers more comprehensive concepts which<br />

include safety, product knowledge, chemistry, manicuring,<br />

facials, chemical texturizing, hair coloring, anatomy and<br />

physiology, <strong>Florida</strong> cosmetology law and other related<br />

topics. Upon completion, you should be able to safely and<br />

competently apply these concepts in the salon setting.<br />

Prerequisite: COS 0080. Corequisite: COS 0081L. (OC)<br />

COS 0081L SALON II 360 con. hrs. <strong>12</strong> occ. crs.<br />

This course provides experience in a simulated salon<br />

setting. Emphasis is placed on an intermediate level of<br />

skin care, manicuring, artifi cial nail applications, scalp<br />

treatments, shampooing, rinsing, hair color, design,<br />

haircutting, chemical texturizing, and other related topics.<br />

Upon successful completion, you should be able to safely<br />

and competently demonstrate these salon services.<br />

This course covers more comprehensive cosmetology<br />

concepts which include safety, product knowledge, salon<br />

management and salesmanship, skin care, electricity and<br />

light therapy, wigs and hair additions, lash and brow tinting,<br />

superfl uous hair removal and other related topics. Upon<br />

completion, you should be able to safely and competently<br />

apply these concepts in the salon setting. Prerequisite: COS<br />

This course provides advanced experience in a simulated<br />

salon setting. Emphasis is placed on effi cient and competent<br />

delivery off all salon services in preparation for the licensing<br />

examination and employment. Upon completion, you<br />

should be able to demonstrate competence in program<br />

requirements and the areas covered on the state board<br />

licensing examination and meet entry level employment<br />

and discussion of contemporary issues and comparisons to<br />

the American system will be emphasized. (TR)<br />
