mortgages, and consumer credit. Concepts are introduced<br />
using the traditional method of calculating. You will be<br />
introduced to the same calculations performed using an<br />

Provides basic mathematical procedures in whole numbers,<br />
fractions, decimals, percents, Roman numerals, ratios and<br />
proportions, metric, apothecary, and household measure<br />
systems, as applied in the health field; medical abbreviations,<br />
temperature conversions; computations for conversions from<br />
one system to another including the solving of algebraic<br />
equations and special formulas for calculating adults’ and<br />
children’s doses of medicines; I.V. fl ow rates; preparation of<br />
solutions from stock; and reconstitution of drugs. Prerequisite:<br />
