Paper Title
Outcome requested
Progression on Master’s Programmes
This is a discussion paper on issues arising from TPB in June
2012 (min: TPB 2011-090). TPB is asked to consider what further
action may be required.
Executive Summary
Some QM Master’s programmes set a progression hurdle
between the taught elements and the project / dissertation
within a calendar year. Full-time students who fail to progress
must return the following year to resit failures and undertake
the project / dissertation. This has caused some difficulties,
especially with overseas students who would need to secure a
new visa to return the following year. The paper summarised
the issue and possible courses of action.
