Module Rationale<br />

Provide a rationale for the introduction of the module <strong>and</strong> specify for which programme(s) of study the module<br />

is designed <strong>and</strong> whether it will be offered as a core, compulsory or option module. If the programme(s)<br />

concerned comprise of a number of dedicated pathways / routes the status of the module on each should also<br />

be made clear.<br />

This is a compulsory module for the Master of Public Administration (MPA) programme. Underst<strong>and</strong>ing organisational behaviour<br />

<strong>and</strong> process within public sector organisations, underst<strong>and</strong>ing organisational behaviour within those for-profit <strong>and</strong> non-profit<br />

organisations which provide public services, <strong>and</strong> underst<strong>and</strong>ing organisational behaviour in regulated organisations, <strong>and</strong><br />

underst<strong>and</strong>ing inter-organisational relations of competition, collaboration, coordination <strong>and</strong> integration are all fundamental to<br />

all masters' level education in public administration <strong>and</strong> public management.<br />

As part of our strategy for preserving the distinctiveness of the students' experience on the MPA, this module will be reserved for<br />

the MPA only <strong>and</strong> will not be available as an elective module for other programmes.<br />
