3.9<br />

Notwithst<strong>and</strong>ing Regulation 3.8, the failure to confirm continuing study will not affect a student’s registration,<br />

nor their academic progress or st<strong>and</strong>ing, on the Postgraduate Laws programme. There is no annual<br />

continuing registration fee for students registered on the Postgraduate Laws programme.<br />

Cancellation of registration<br />

3.10 (GR)<br />

A student may cancel their registration at any time.<br />

Section 10 gives refund information.<br />

Registration of former students of the University<br />

3.11 (GR)<br />

In addition to satisfying the entrance requirements given in the Programme Specification, an applicant who<br />

was previously either registered as an International Programmes student or enrolled at a College of the<br />

University of London must have paid the University or College all due fees <strong>and</strong> accounts. An applicant who<br />

fails to satisfy this condition will not be permitted to register, or to register again, as an International<br />

Programmes student.<br />

3.12 (GR)<br />

An applicant who has previously received a University of London award, or whose registration with the<br />

University was terminated because they had exhausted the permitted number of attempts at an examination,<br />

may apply to register again as an International Programmes student for a programme of study in a different<br />

subject or field of study.<br />

3.13 (GR)<br />

Registration of an applicant who has previously received a University of London award, or whose<br />

registration with the University was terminated due to exhausting the permitted number of attempts at<br />

an examination, for a programme of study in the same subject or field of study, is at the discretion of<br />

the University <strong>and</strong> may not be permitted for all programmes. All applications will be considered on an<br />

individual basis.<br />

3.14 (GR)<br />

It is at the University’s discretion to determine whether a student who registers again for an award under<br />

paragraph 3.12 can receive credit for any modules previously passed.<br />

3.15 (GR)<br />

A student who receives credit for modules previously passed will not be permitted to re-enter the examination<br />

for those subjects.<br />

3.16 (GR)<br />

A student who is permitted to register again will be required to pay a new registration fee. The student will<br />

receive a new maximum period of registration relevant to that programme.<br />

4 Assessment for the programme<br />

Regulations 4.13, 4.30, 4.32, 4.33, 4.34 <strong>and</strong> 4.35 do not apply to the Postgraduate Laws programme.<br />

4.2<br />

As indicated in the Programme Specification, each module is assessed individually by one 45 minute unseen<br />

written paper examination, with the exception of Jurisprudence <strong>and</strong> legal theory.<br />
