Programmes. It reflects the student life cycle <strong>and</strong> gives information about matters of importance<br />

from the start of a students' relationship with the University of London International Programmes<br />

through to their graduation. This section also puts the Regulations in context for the student;<br />

Access to a Student Portal, from which students can access the Virtual Learning Environment,<br />

eCampus;<br />

A University of London email account <strong>and</strong> web area for personal information management;<br />

Access to an Online Library which provides a range of full-text, legal-specific databases as well as<br />

other relevant multidisciplinary databases (including <strong>Academic</strong> Search Complete <strong>and</strong> ABI/Inform).<br />

University of London library - registered students may use the resources located within the Senate<br />

House Library;<br />

Regulations, containing full details of syllabuses, programme structure, assessment regulations,<br />

degree classification criteria, etc.;<br />

Past examination papers <strong>and</strong> Examiners' commentaries which provide generic feedback from<br />

assessment;<br />

The Postgraduate Laws programme web pages;<br />

The Student Charter is intended to state key mutual obligations between the University of London<br />

International Programmes <strong>and</strong> its International Programmes students.<br />

At an extra cost, students may:<br />

attend locally based teaching institutions – students must make their own arrangements to work with<br />

institutions which provide full-time classes, regular part-time classes or occasional revision sessions.<br />

These institutions are not affiliated with the University in any way <strong>and</strong> the University does not<br />

guarantee or comment on the st<strong>and</strong>ards of their teaching or service to students.<br />

Quality evaluation <strong>and</strong> enhancement<br />

The Colleges of the University of London <strong>and</strong> the University of London International Academy collaborate to<br />

deliver the University of London International Programmes. The policies, partnerships <strong>and</strong> systems are<br />

defined within our key documents: The Quality Framework, the Quality Assurance Schedules, Guidelines for<br />

Examinations <strong>and</strong> Detailed Regulations for each programme.<br />

Parity of award st<strong>and</strong>ards<br />

Every programme of study is developed <strong>and</strong> approved by a Lead College, or Consortia, to the same<br />

st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>and</strong> requirements as would be applied in the Lead College(s);<br />

Learning materials are written <strong>and</strong> examinations are set <strong>and</strong> marked by academic staff employed or<br />

chosen by the Lead Colleges, who are required to apply the University’s academic st<strong>and</strong>ards.<br />

Review <strong>and</strong> evaluation mechanisms<br />

Procedures are in place to assure the quality of the programme development, delivery, management,<br />

systematic monitoring <strong>and</strong> ongoing review <strong>and</strong> enhancement of all University of London International<br />

Programmes. Enhancements are made as necessary to ensure that systems remain effective <strong>and</strong> rigorous.<br />
