1) Programme Management<br />

Describe the arrangements for the operational management of the programme <strong>and</strong> the quality assurance<br />

mechanisms that will be put in place. Consideration should be given to student representatives <strong>and</strong> hearing<br />

student views.<br />

Complete either section a) for programmes delivered by one School/Institute or section b) for programmes<br />

delivered by more than one School/Institute.<br />

a) Single School/Institute Delivery<br />

In the week before Semester A teaching begins, the Director of Postgraduate Taught Programmes leads a two day induction<br />

session for the cohort entering that year. This covers Core <strong>and</strong> Option Modules in each Programme; Choice of Options; the<br />

Documentation Students Must Complete; Exams; Coursework <strong>and</strong> Assessment; the Student H<strong>and</strong>book; the Dissertation<br />

(Structure; Organisation; Research <strong>and</strong> Plagiarism); Security <strong>and</strong> Safety; Library Resources; IT Resources; SSLC; Careers Advice;<br />

Help with English; <strong>and</strong> Campus Tours.<br />

Formally, the SSLC meets once a semester, with a student representative from each programme. Informally, each student in the<br />

programme has access to the Programme Director, who reports to the Director of Postgraduate Taught Programmes.<br />

Curriculum development <strong>and</strong> delivery are overseen by the Programme Organiser through the School’s Teaching <strong>and</strong> Learning<br />

Committee.<br />

This MSc programme is delivered by a combination of lectures <strong>and</strong> workshops. With students taking 4 (15 credit) modules in<br />

semester A, <strong>and</strong> 4 (15 credit modules in semester B) where students can take two electives. In semester C students complete a<br />

dissertation (60 credits weighting). Assessments vary between the module but are designed to evaluate the students acquisition
