SETUP<br />
The encounter begins either when the characters make<br />
their Spot checks to notice the defenders hiding among<br />
the snow slopes or immediately following the archers’ surprise<br />
round. Place the wat trolls (T), ogre tempests (O), and<br />
whitespawn berserkers (W) as the PCs notice them.<br />
When a character gets a clear line of sight to the<br />
defenders, read:<br />
Facing you in battle is a strange assortment of<br />
cultists: vicious-looking trolls wearing armor and<br />
using weapons, several particularly well-armed<br />
ogres, and some white-scaled humanoids with<br />
reptilian faces. Some appear to have succumbed to<br />
the blood moon rage.<br />

Dazing Blow (Ex) If a war troll hits with a weapon or claw<br />
attack, the opponent must make a DC 25 Fortitude<br />
save or be dazed for 1 round.<br />
Regeneration (Ex) Acid deals normal damage to a war<br />
troll. If a war troll loses a limb or a body part, the lost<br />
portion regrows in 2d4 minutes. The creature can<br />
reattach the severed member instantly by holding it to<br />
the stump.<br />
When the characters first see the entryway, read:<br />
The cave is hidden against the icy cliff face by piles<br />
of snow and huge icicles that hang down from its<br />
roof like teeth. Movement behind the icicles and<br />
snow shows the presence of defenders.<br />
When a character comes within 20 feet of the entrance,<br />
read:<br />
A patch of ice gleams on the ground between you<br />
and the defenders. It appears very slick.<br />
