5.10 How to perform a test print The test print function allows a fast test of the print system. The test print can be used to get a quick impression of the print quality of the inserted ink cartridges. There is no need to have a connection to a PC to use this function. SINGLE TEST PRINT • Check that no objects are placed on the transport belt. • Press the Quick key and the arrow up key together. • The printer will display SINGLE PAPER RUN and ask you to select between Manual , Feeder and Cancel . • Select Manual and pass one sheet of paper through the printer. The size of the paper will be shown in the printer display. If Feeder is selected the feeder will be used to feed paper into the printer. • Pass a second paper through the printer. The AS-3640 will print a test print. TEST PRINT (continuous) • Check that no objects are placed on the transport belt. • Press and hold the Quick key and the arrow up key together for three seconds. • will be shown in the bottom line of the printer display. Now you can release the buttons. • The printer will display and ask you to select between Manual , Feeder and Cancel . • Select Manual and pass one sheet of paper through the printer. The size of the paper will be shown in the printer display. If Feeder is selected the feeder will be used to feed paper into the printer. • Continue to pass paper through the printer. The AS-3640 will print a test print onto each paper. • Press the Canel key to stop the test prints. 44 User Manual Version 3.1

Some print nozzles may be clogged. Please use the CLEAN HEADS function to purge the nozzles. You may also clean the nozzles using a cleaning cloth. Please see chapter 8.1.2 How to clean an ink cartridge, on page 123 for further information. • The position of the test print is misplaced. Please reposition the print units manually.
