Figures 4-4, 4-5 and 4-6 show the relationship between the amount of water<br />

and the percentage of fly ash replacement for the same workability<br />

corresponding to 3,000, 4,000 and 5,000 psi nominal compressive strength<br />

concrete mixtures shown in Tables 4-2 through 4-4. For a given workability<br />

(slump 4” ± 1”), it can be seen that as the percentage of fly ash increases in<br />

the mixture, the water demand decreases (25).<br />
