ٰ96 <strong>With</strong> <strong>Love</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>Muhammad</strong> sa the Khātam-un-NabiyyīnHadīth Number 2 – Statement made <strong>to</strong> Hazrat ‘Alī raأنaرولaااللهaaااللهaہaوaمaخرجaاaتبوکaوaاتخفaاaالaاتخaaابانaوaااءaالaألاaترaانaتونaaبزۃaارونaنaوaالاaأہaسaبaبدیٰThe Messenger of Allāh sa went out for Tabūk, appointingHazrat ‘Alī ra as his deputy (in Medina). Hazrat ‘Alī ra said, “Doyou want <strong>to</strong> leave me with the children and women?” TheProphet sa said, “Will you not be pleased that you will be <strong>to</strong> melike Aaron was <strong>to</strong> Moses? But there will be no prophet afterme”. 83About the above hadīth, Hazrat Mirzā Tāhir Ahmad rh states:There is another hadīth that our opponentsfrequently quote <strong>to</strong> support their position. The hadīthreads: “Saīd Bin Al-Musayyab reports on theauthority of Āmir Bin Sa‘ad Bin Abī Waqqās whoreports on the authority of his father (Allāh bepleased with them): The Holy Prophet sa said <strong>to</strong>Hazrat ‘Alī ra : ‘You are <strong>to</strong> me what Aaron was <strong>to</strong>Moses, except there is no prophet after me’.” Anotherversion of the hadīth of Sahīh Bukhārī reads: “...exceptthat you are not a prophet.” Still another versionquoted by Masnad Ahmad Bin Hanbal reads: “...But donot become a Prophet”.
