Death of Hazrat ‘Īsā as bin Mariam ra 199Mirzā Ghulām Ahmad as attained his status of prophethood bybeing a follower of the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa and camewith his seal of approval. In simple terms, the Holy Prophet sa isa teacher of Hazrat Mirzā Ghulām Ahmad as but not a teacher ofHazrat ‘Īsā as . In fact, the Holy Qur’an restricts the prophethoodof Hazrat ‘Īsā as to the Israelites in the following words:وَرَ‏ سُ‏ وْ‏ لاً‏ اِلىٰ‏ بَنىِ‏ ْۤ اِسرْ‏ ٰٓ ءِيْلَۙ‏And (he was) a Messenger to the children of Israel... 213What will become of this statement of the Holy Qur’ān if Hazrat‘Īsā as returns as a prophet for the whole of mankind?Fourth, discussing this issue further, Farhan Khanpresents the following hadīth to support his viewpoint:وaاخرجaابنaابaبۃaنaابaرaااللهaہaال:‏aa aاالله a aبۃ aاب aبن aارۃ aد aرجل الحد aخاتم aالاباء aلا بa aبدہ aال aارۃ:‏حبک aاذا aت aخاتم aالاباء،‏ aاا aا aحدث aانaaہaامaخارج،‏aانaوaخرجaدaانaبہaوa ٰ بدہIbn Abī Shaybah reported that As-Shabī ra said,“Aman in the company of Al-Mughīrah bin AbīShu‘bah ra said, ‘May Allāh bless Muhammad, the Sealof the Prophets, there is no prophet after him.’ Al-Mughīrah said, ‘It was enough for you when yousaid, ‘The Seal of the Prophets,’ for we used to discuss213Sūrah Āle Imrān, 3:50
