Hadīth of Hazrat ‘Alī ra and Lā Nabiyya Ba‘adī 113بدی the Mount. It is <strong>to</strong> be noted that the word[ba‘adī] here means ری [ghairī: besides me]. Itdoes not mean after me in time. As we say thatin:فَمَنْ‏ يهَّْدِيْهِ‏ ۢ مِنْ‏ بَعْدِ‏ ٰ اهللّ‏ ِ ؕ(Who, then, will guide him other thanAllāh? 103 ). aاالله بد [ba‘d-Allāh] means other thanAllāh.He further states in the same book:Here the word بدی [ba’adī] is not in the contex<strong>to</strong>f ازa بدت [after his time] because HazratHārūn as did not outlive Hazrat Mūsā as . Hence,the implied conclusion was not for a periodafter the Holy Prophet sa for Hazrat ‘Alī ra .
