“I am the Last Brick and I am the Last of the prophets” 143their books. They misunderstood the sayings of their prophetsbecause they took them too literally.Second, if Farhan Khan’s understanding is accepted, thematter will remain unsolved. This is because the analogy onlyspeaks of one missing brick when, according to Farhan Khan, there are supposed to be two missing bricks in the palace.Farhan Khan believes in the physical ascent of Hazrat ‘Īsā as toheaven and if the hadīth is taken literally, the brick representingHazrat ‘Īsā as should also be missing. A question that arises fromthis acceptance of Farhan Khan’s meaning is: When Hazrat ‘Īsā ascomes back, where will that brick go? As it can now be seenclearly, this is a flawed understanding and Ahmadī Muslims arenot willing to accept it.Third, Farhan Khan brings a quotation of Hazrat ImāmIbn Hajar al-‘Asqalānī rh and writes, “[Hazrat] Mirzā TāhirAhmad[ rh ] quoted Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani out of context inregards to the rest of his statement.” 138 Farhan Khan then goeson to emphasize that the hadīth is about the prophets and thediscussion about their laws is a separate one. However, the factof the matter is that the conclusion drawn by Imām Ibn Hajar rhat the end of his paragraph is identical to the conclusion drawnby the Ahmadī Muslims. There is no denying that! AhmadīMuslims firmly believe that this analogy is about the prophetsbut not in the literal sense. The purpose of the analogy is tospeak about the laws brought by those prophets. This is thesame as the conclusion drawn by Imām Ibn Hajar rh and it haseven been recorded by Farhan Khan on Page 13 of his book:138Ibid.
