66 With Love to Muhammad sa the Khātam-un-Nabiyyīnun-Nabiyyīn because, with his advent, the law wascompleted and perfected. 49Hazrat Sheikh ‘Abd-ul-Qādir Al-Kurdistāni wrote, “The titleKhātam-un-Nabiyyīn conferred on the Holy Prophet (peace andblessings of Allāh be on him) means that after him a lawbearingprophet will not come.” 50 Maulwī Abū Al-Hasnāt ‘Abdul-Hayeof Farangimahal, Lucknow, a Brelwī scholar gives hisexposition on the same topic that:‘Ulemā Ahle Sunnat also subscribe to the view thatfollowing the advent of the Holy Prophet (peace andblessings of Allāh be on him) no law-bearing prophetcan come. The prophethood of the Holy Prophet(peace and blessings of Allāh be on him) is wide inscope. Any prophet who would now come would befrom the ummah and follow his sharī‘ah. 51It is now evident that our interpretation of Khātam-un-Nabiyyīnwas taught much earlier by these great saints 52 and this fact iswell known in the Muslim ummah that the Holy ProphetMuhammad sa is the last law-bearing prophet.The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamā‘at has only reiterated whatthese saints and scholars said. A criticism of this belief byFarhan Khan is indirectly a criticism of these well-known andwell-recognized saints.
