A matrix was generated inwhich the content of the known projects were projected onto the following categories:EnablersAccident CausationRoad Infrastructure and ArchitectureTelecommunications InfrastructureVehicle ArchitectureHuman FactorsSafety FunctionsPreventive and Protective SystemsPost Accident CallCost Benefit Analysis• On the basis of this analysis, the RTD gaps were identified and recommendations forfuture research priorities were derived.41 Information on the projects analysed were contributed by the WG members and by a literature survey.No claims are made with respect to the completeness of the analysis and the results represent a firstqualitative indication of the distribution and focus of R&D activities in Europe.Page 144 of 490
