The study does not consider the impact of radio communication services on SRRor automotive EMC issues. 3 administrations expressed difficulties with the outcome ofthis work and reservations were entered into the minutes of the May 2003 meeting of SEWG. No assessment has yet been made on the possibility of interference into theAmateur and Amateur-satellite service, both of which have primary allocation in thisrange.It is agreed that the SRR-equipment can not be considered as a safety of life service inaccordance with the Radio Regulations, therefore SRR must operate on a noninterferenceand non-protected basis in accordance with the Radio Regulations. It hashowever to be ensured that the high power environment in which 24 GHz SRR systemsmay operate cannot lead to misinterpretation of received signal and potentially affect thevehicle’s drive in case of automotive active safety application.The general study has focused on the following 3 specific primary services to which SRRat 24 GHz is considered likely to present a high interference potential− Fixed Service (FS)− Earth Exploration Satellite Service (EESS)− Radio Astronomy Service (RAS)Complementary to ECC Report 23, a study on the compatibility between 24 GHz SRRsystems and the Radiolocation Service has been developed on a national basis and wasconsidered by the SE WG at its October 2003 meeting.21
